We’ve updated Evemnesis to version 2.0!

This is a very important update because of several reasons. After what it seems a very long time, the game has finally been ported to a new game engine! The port is not an exact copy of the previous game, however. The visual presentation, for instance, is not identical. A new look has been chosen to represent the spirit of this new version and to give it a more cohesive and retro aesthetic.

If you’d like to play with visuals similar to the previous version, there’s an option to easily change between styles in-game, just in case.

With this port, we wanted to recreate the game and add some improvements. We weren’t interested in changing too much in order to keep the core of the experience the same as it was at the beginning (for better or for worst).

In the case of Evemnesis, we implemented gamepad support. This presented various challenges: the previous version of the game was designed to be played exclusively with keyboard and mouse. The transition to supporting keyboard/mouse and gamepad demanded modifications for most of the puzzles. Therefore, a new interface was created to interact with the world of the game. Some events of the story were tweaked to take advantage of the new play-style. And speaking of the story of the game, the entire presentation was replaced to fit with the new interface. Now documents and descriptions are better displayed and easier to read.

Evemnesis and 80.08 are getting the same type of update. So if you own both, apologies for the double post, it is very similar!

From now on, this will be the definitive version of the game. Previous save files will no longer work. If you already own Evemnesis, we strongly recommend to play this version instead.
